Some of the most important achievements of association during past years:

  1. Giving Motivations and stimulate the dried fruits producers to increase the quality of their products and meeting the international standards of production, process, and packing of dried fruits.
  2. enactment and execution of exportation tax exemption in a coherent effort with the other associations
  3. Attempting to waiver the mandatory standards of dried fruits exportation.
  4. Participation in the international conventions to remove the restrictions and constrains which dried fruits (particularly Pistachio) exportation is facing.
  5. Forming a commission of experts to pursue different aspects of dried fruit exportation affairs, such as (pistachio-raisin-date- and fig commission’s expert).
  6. Devising and consolidating a harmonized method of production, process and packing of Iranian raisin for exportation purpose, aiming the augmentation of raisin`s quality and introducing such quality to customer.
  7. Participation in expert conferences and seminars of dried fruits such as nut council and raisin conference.
  8. Publishing the bulletins and make the association website operational in order to sectional communication and informing the members.

The Goals of the association

The Goals of the association:

Article 1-Maintaining and support of the exports of the country’s dried fruits and the interests of the members of the association and advancement of the spirit of harmony and concord between them and prevention of unhealthy competition.

Article2-Endeavour in enhancement of the quality of the export dried fruits in accordance with the international norms.

Article 3-Collaboration with the governmental and nongovernmental organizations related to the production, services, trade and export of dried fruits.

Article 4-Cooperation and coordination with the chamber –especially its specialized export sections for the purpose of augmentation of its power and effectiveness and offering ideas and proposals for the elevation of the presence of the association in the chamber.

Article 5-Holding joint session with the international organizations and institutes for finding appropriate guidelines for the expansion the export of dried fruits; also attending the global gatherings and institutions in order to defend the association’s positions and garnering their support.

Article 6- Participation in the international conferences on dried fruits and accepting membership of the local and global associations.

Article 7- Holding local and international trade fairs and dispatching specialized delegations for marketing and promotion to the different parts of the world.

Article 8- Collection of up-to-date statistics and scientific information and transferring them to the members for the enhancement of the professional knowledge.

Article 9- Establishment of a research base and examination of the research papers for the discovery of the guidelines of export promotion of dried fruits and countering the obstacles in its way.

Article 10-Arbiteration and solving intra-member disputes in case of their mutual agreement.

The history of IRAN Dried fruit Exporters Association

Despite the archaism of history of Iran dried fruit exportation, the IRAN Dried fruit Exporters Association has been almost recently (1969) established subsidiary to the chamber of commerce, industries and mines of IRAN, and thereafter has been vastly pursuing its core mission. Today our association with more than 1,000 official and none official members, has a very solid position in nonpetroleum exportation, in the way that through exportation of more than 311,000 Metric Tons of dried fruits in 2008,(which costs 987 million US dolor) to the different region of word, we have achieved the first rank of nonpetroleum exporters of the country. (This amount for 2011 was 441.535 Metric Tons which is equal to 1,673,346,597 US DOLOR)


Export and import of dried fruits

“Dried fruit”, these two words resembles one of the most ancient ways of preserving fresh fruits. Thus these priceless jewels of the nature will be preserved for a longer time. it`s been years since the discovery and application of dried fruits in cooking as the main food supplement and a healthy source of nutrition for different seasons. Different kinds of dried fruits can be store in cool and dry places for more than 12 months.

Pistachio, raisins, date, walnut, Chestnut, Apricot, fig, pitch, pears, peach, and the other type of dried fruit s and fresh fruits are used in cooking and food industries, and make the output delicious and refreshed.

For instance the recipe of raisin in a delicious combination with yogurt is consumed as a rich and healthy source of nutrition for breakfast. Fortunately nowadays the dried fruits are available in any stores and retail shops around us. The history of dried fruit production (specifically pistachio) in IRAN can be traced back to hundreds of centuries ago, and with no doubt there is no other country in the whole word which can claims such an old and profound history of dried fruits production. Furthermore the fact that the taste and flavor of Iranian dried fruits is unprecedented and is second to none can’t be condoned.

The organizational structure of association (hierarchy):

  1. Board of directors: including 15 members of association of which 11 are the main crew and 4 persons are the substitute and one person acts as the inspector which would be elected by the unpublicized vote of association members.
  2. Presidium: including 5 member of association of which one person is chairman- two persons as deputy of chairman- one person as treasurer and one person as the secretary of Presidium will be appointed.
  3. Secretariat of association: under subordination of chairman of association and directed by the secretary of association.
